Gemstone damage comes in three forms — and we handle all of them at our Oxnard shop.
Lost Stone — The stone is completely gone from the setting. We source a matching replacement and reset it securely. Same-day service available for common stones.
Chipped Stone — The stone has visible damage. Sometimes we can re-cut and re-polish the existing stone, saving the cost of a new one. We assess and advise honestly.
Loose Stone — The stone is still in place but wiggles or shifts. This means worn prongs. We re-tip the prongs and tighten the stone before it falls out. This is the most common preventable loss.

Stone replacement cost depends on the type and size of the stone, the complexity of the setting, and whether prong work is needed.

For a diamond replacement, we match all four Cs to ensure the new stone is visually indistinguishable from the original.
Carat — We match the same weight within 0.05ct so the stone fits the existing setting and looks identical in size.
Color — We match within one color grade on the GIA D–Z scale. A G color original gets a G or H replacement.
Clarity — We match for visual equivalence at 10x magnification. Eye-clean for eye-clean — you won’t see a difference.
Cut — We match the same shape and faceting style. A round brilliant stays round brilliant. An oval stays oval.
For colored stones, we add a fifth factor: hue and saturation matching using a refractometer and dichroscope.
